Let the machines do the work of producing a brand new, fully functional movement that's good to go, and then re-install the dial and hands. Given their production costs, replacement is likely the more economical option, rather than a human being fiddling with a bunch of tiny parts. They may then recycle the parts of the original movement, but they wouldn't disassemble, clean, reassemble, regulate, and test a particular movement just to give it back to the original owner. Servicing, while also technically possible, if anyone wanted to go through the trouble, would cost about the same as simply swapping in a new movement.which appears to be what Swatch would do anyway, if you were to send it back to them. Regulation does appear possible, yet more tedious, via the two screws on the actual, free-sprung, balance wheel. The smooth sweeping second hand is what most folks prefer, and seems to be the primary complaint, justified or not. These movements are borderline, when it comes to being able to be serviced and regulated by a watchshop. You get a 3 Hz movement, instead of 4 Hz, and an 80 hour power reserve, if that matters to you. It's decent enough, but it ain't no ETA 2824.
